AI Use Policy

Last Updated: June 8, 2026

Uncrowned Empire is a network of websites, communities, and publications owned by Uncrowned Empire, LLC.

This policy explains how Uncrowned Empire uses artificial intelligence tools in our editorial, community, audio, video, image, social media, coding, formatting, and internal staff workflows.

This policy applies across Uncrowned Empire sites, including:

Our position is simple:

AI may support our work, but it does not replace human responsibility.

Humans gather or provide the information. Humans review the content. Humans remain accountable for what we publish.

Our Core AI Standard

Uncrowned Empire may use AI tools to assist with drafting, formatting, editing, summarizing, organizing, translating, coding, and producing content.

However, AI is not treated as a factual source by itself.

For official articles, guides, videos, audio content, pages, and major public communications, our standard is:

  1. A human gathers or provides the information.

  2. AI may help draft, organize, format, edit, translate, summarize, or produce the content.

  3. A human reviews and approves the final result before it appears on our websites.

AI is not allowed to publish official site content directly in a way that readers see without human review.

How We Use AI

AI tools may be used in several parts of our workflow, but the use depends on the content type.

Articles and News Posts

Uncrowned Empire may allow editors to use AI tools to help outline, draft, clean up, format, or improve articles.

However, the information used in an article must come from human-gathered or human-provided sources. Editors may not rely on AI as the source of facts, quotes, links, statistics, announcements, patch details, product claims, technical claims, legal claims, medical claims, financial claims, historical claims, or news claims.

AI may help turn verified human-provided information into a clearer draft, but it may not invent new information or fill in missing details.

Before publication, a human editor must review, edit, and approve the article.

Guides, Resources, and Explainers

Guides and resources may use AI assistance for drafting, formatting, structure, grammar, clarity, and readability.

The information must come from human-provided sources, hands-on knowledge, official documentation, verified information, public records, trusted references, or other reliable material.

AI may help organize or explain that information, but it cannot be treated as the source of the guide itself.

This applies to guides about games, technology, software, digital rights, security practices, tools, history, preparedness, home security, consumer topics, entertainment, or any other Uncrowned Empire subject area.

All AI-assisted official guides must be reviewed by a human before publication.

Headlines, Meta Descriptions, Keywords, and Tags

AI may be used to suggest headlines, titles, meta descriptions, meta keywords, article tags, summaries, category suggestions, and similar supporting material.

These must be based on the provided article, guide, page, or source material.

AI should not add unsupported claims, unrelated keywords, misleading descriptions, deceptive SEO terms, or information not found in the actual content.

These items are human-reviewed before publication.

Summaries and TL;DR Sections

AI may be used to help create summaries, excerpts, blurbs, or TL;DR-style sections from existing article, guide, page, or source content.

These summaries must reflect the actual content and cannot add new claims.

A human editor must review them before publication.

Rewrites, Cleanup, and Editing

Staff may use AI to proofread, rewrite, clean up, restructure, or improve readability.

This includes grammar correction, tone adjustment, paragraph balancing, formatting, headline ideas, transitions, plain-language rewrites, and clarity improvements.

AI-assisted editing does not remove the need for human review. A human editor remains responsible for the final published content.

Research and Fact-Checking

AI may be used as a starting point for ideas, research direction, topic organization, outline planning, or source-discovery prompts.

However, AI is not considered a reliable source by itself.

Uncrowned Empire treats AI-generated research similarly to user posts, Reddit comments, wikis, search snippets, or other informal sources: it may point in a useful direction, but it is not treated as fact until verified through stronger sources.

Editors are expected to follow up with official sources, reputable publications, public statements, press releases, documentation, public records, research papers, platform pages, changelogs, court filings, government sources, or other concrete sources before publishing factual claims.

AI may not be used as the sole source for news, guides, statistics, legal claims, financial claims, medical claims, technical claims, historical claims, quotes, or factual reporting.

Social Media

Uncrowned Empire may use AI in social media workflows.

Some social media posts may be created through an article-to-AI-to-social-media automation process. These posts are based on already-published or human-reviewed article content and are not supposed to add new reporting, new claims, or unsupported information.

Unlike official site articles and guides, some social media posts may go live without an additional human review after the original article, guide, page, or source content has already been reviewed. This helps our small team share published content across platforms more efficiently.

Official major announcements, network statements, policy updates, community statements, sensitive posts, or important public communications may receive additional human review when appropriate.

Uncrowned Empire may also use AI to create translated social media posts. Our websites are primarily written and maintained in English, but AI translation may be used to help share content on social platforms.

Forums, Blogs, Comments, and Community Posts

Uncrowned Empire includes community forums, comments, blogs, profiles, clubs, and other user-driven areas. These areas are different from official editorial content.

Official staff forum posts, official blog posts, and official promotional posts should follow the same general rule: human-provided information, AI assistance if needed, and human review before posting.

Community members may use AI tools in their own posts or blogs, but those areas are community-driven. We encourage honesty about AI use, but we do not apply the same structured article notice system to every forum post, comment, or community blog.

Staff may use AI to help edit or clean up forum replies and comments, but AI should not be used as a direct auto-posting content machine. A human should review the post and remain responsible for it.

Forum posts, comments, blogs, profiles, clubs, and other community areas remain subject to our Community Guidelines.

Audio Narration

Uncrowned Empire may offer audio versions of some articles, guides, pages, or other content.

AI-generated audio is created from final or approved text. It must be reviewed by a human before publication when used as official site content.

Audio will not be available on every article, guide, or page. When audio is included, the content should identify whether the narration was human-recorded, AI-generated, or not included.

If an article, guide, or page is materially corrected after audio has been published, the editor may choose to replace the audio, remove the audio, regenerate the audio, or leave it in place with written notes or corrections. The best option depends on the nature of the change.

Synthetic voices may be used for AI-generated narration, and those audio versions should be labeled as AI-generated.

Images and Graphics

Uncrowned Empire may use AI-generated images or graphics in limited cases.

We generally prefer official media, company-provided media, press kits, screenshots, public-domain material, properly licensed images, appropriate stock images, original graphics, or clearly labeled illustrative material.

AI-generated images may be used when they are clearly illustrative and not deceptive. For example, an AI illustration of a controller, laptop, fantasy scene, generic server rack, historical-style scene, or abstract privacy concept may be acceptable when clearly used as illustration.

AI-generated images must not be used to fake real events, fake gameplay, fake screenshots, fake product results, fake technical evidence, fake historical records, impersonate people, misrepresent evidence, or deceive readers.

If an AI-generated image contains information, such as numbers, charts, labels, technical details, product details, maps, diagrams, or visual claims, that information must be factual and verified.

Fake charts, fake data, fake screenshots, fake documentation, misleading visuals, and deceptive image-based claims are not allowed.

Misleading images, deepfakes, fake gameplay, fake product proof, deceptive depictions of real people, and similar content violate our Community Guidelines and are not allowed in official content.

Video Content

AI may be used to help with video scripts, captions, descriptions, summaries, voiceovers, graphics, thumbnails, translations, editing support, or production support.

Any factual information in a video must come from human-provided and verified sources. AI may help shape or format the video, but it may not invent facts, claims, quotes, statistics, sources, product results, technical findings, historical claims, or news details.

Videos that use AI should explain in plain language how AI was used. This notice should appear in the video description, on the video itself, or both when appropriate.

Because videos can involve many different production methods, Uncrowned Empire does not use one fixed video AI notice for every case. Instead, the AI notice should accurately describe the specific use of AI in that video.

Translation

Uncrowned Empire websites are primarily written and maintained in English.

We do not generally translate all site content into other languages. Staff may use AI translation or other tools to help communicate with non-English users, and AI may be used to create translated social media posts or summaries.

AI translations should be treated as a helpful communication tool, not as an official guarantee of perfect translation accuracy.

If accuracy is especially important, such as for legal, safety, technical, medical, financial, policy, or security-related content, translations should be handled with extra caution.

Coding, Tools, and Technical Work

Uncrowned Empire may use AI tools to assist with coding, debugging, formatting, documentation, templates, scripts, calculators, site tools, automation, and other technical workflows.

AI-generated or AI-assisted code must be reviewed, tested, and approved by a human before it is used in production or made public.

AI may help identify possible fixes, suggest code, explain errors, or improve structure, but it is not treated as a guaranteed source of correctness, security, legality, or compatibility.

AI must not be given private user data, credentials, API keys, secrets, payment information, private messages, or non-public account information for coding or debugging purposes.

What AI Is Not Allowed To Do

AI may not be used to:

  • Publish official content directly to Uncrowned Empire sites without human review

  • Act as the sole factual source for an article, guide, video, official page, or official post

  • Invent quotes, links, sources, facts, statistics, patch notes, product details, technical findings, historical claims, or news claims

  • Generate official articles from nothing

  • Replace human editorial judgment

  • Make final correction decisions

  • Handle private user data

  • Access user accounts, private messages, emails, IP addresses, payment details, or non-public forum content

  • Write staff opinions or reviews without human authorship

  • Impersonate real people

  • Create misleading images, audio, or video

  • Create deepfakes, fake gameplay, fake screenshots, fake product proof, fake technical evidence, fake historical materials, or deceptive media

  • Provide legal, medical, financial, security, or safety claims that are treated as professional advice or verified fact without proper human review and sourcing

  • Bypass site rules, moderation, privacy standards, or disclosure requirements

If AI creates an error, Uncrowned Empire remains responsible for the published official content because a human reviewed and approved it before publication.

User Data and Privacy

Uncrowned Empire does not run public AI models directly on our websites or servers.

AI tools are external tools used by staff, such as chatbots, automation tools, writing assistants, coding assistants, image tools, audio tools, translation tools, or similar services.

We do not provide AI tools direct access to our website backend, user accounts, private messages, private forum areas, emails, IP addresses, payment information, or other private user data.

Staff are not allowed to paste private user data into AI tools. Sharing private user data with AI systems would violate our privacy standards.

AI tools used by staff shall not have access to user accounts, private messages, browsing activity, non-public forum content, account information, or private community data.

Uncrowned Empire sites may use Invision Community Cloud or other platform services, which may include basic internal machine learning, automation, spam-prevention, moderation-support, or platform features provided as part of those services. These are separate from staff using external AI tools to create content.

More details are available in our Privacy Policy.

AI Use Notices

Uncrowned Empire may use AI use notices on official articles, guides, audio, video, pages, or other official content where appropriate.

These notices explain how the content was prepared.

Blogs, forum posts, comments, and other community-driven areas do not have the same required structured AI notice fields, although users and staff are encouraged to be honest when asked about AI use.

Article AI Use Notices

Official articles and guides may use notices such as:

  • This article was fully researched, written, and edited by a human — no AI involved.

  • A human wrote this article, and AI helped clean it up or improve the writing. A human editor gave it a final review.

  • This article was put together by a human who used AI tools to organize or format the content, followed by a human review.

  • A human gathered the research, but AI wrote the first draft. A human then edited and approved it.

  • This article was drafted and polished using AI tools, then checked by a real person before publishing.

  • This article was generated as an AI summary of outside sources and carefully checked by a human before posting.

The exact notice should reflect how AI was actually used.

Audio AI Use Notices

Articles or pages with audio may use notices such as:

  • Audio narration was recorded and produced by a human without AI voice generation.

  • Audio narration was generated with an AI voice tool and reviewed by a human before publication.

  • No audio version was included with this article.

Video AI Use Notices

Videos do not use one fixed notice because AI can be used in many different ways.

When AI is used in a video, the video should explain in plain language how AI was used. This may include AI-assisted scripts, AI-generated narration, AI-generated visuals, AI-assisted captions, AI-edited descriptions, AI translation, AI thumbnails, or other uses.

The notice should appear in the video description, on the video itself, or both when appropriate.

Corrections Involving AI

AI-assisted content follows the same correction standards as any other Uncrowned Empire content.

If an AI-assisted article, guide, video, image, audio file, caption, summary, metadata item, social media post, or official page contains an error, we will handle it through our normal correction process.

If the AI use notice itself is wrong, we will correct the notice.

AI does not reduce our responsibility. If it appears as official Uncrowned Empire content, Uncrowned Empire is responsible for it.

More details are available in our Corrections Policy.

Staff Use of AI

Staff may use AI tools to support official content creation as long as they follow this policy.

For official news, guides, pages, and videos, staff are required to disclose AI use through the appropriate notice or description where applicable. For forums and blogs, AI disclosure is strongly encouraged, but those areas are community-driven and do not always use the same structured disclosure fields.

Staff may use their own AI tools only when doing so does not expose private user data, sensitive account information, credentials, API keys, payment details, or non-public site content.

Staff remain responsible for protecting user privacy and verifying all published information.

Staff may use AI to draft content from press releases, official statements, public information, or other human-provided source material. However, the output must still be reviewed, edited, and approved by a human before publication.

Staff may not use AI as a substitute for legal, medical, financial, security, safety, or other professional expertise.

Our Commitment

Uncrowned Empire uses AI because it can help a small team produce clearer, more consistent, and more accessible content.

However, AI is only a tool.

We do not allow AI to replace human accountability, human review, source verification, editorial judgment, correction responsibility, or respect for user privacy.

Our commitment is to be transparent about how AI is used, honest about what humans reviewed, careful with user data, and responsible for everything we publish.
