Editorial Policy
Last Updated: June 8, 2026
Uncrowned Empire is a network of community-driven publications and websites owned by Uncrowned Empire, LLC.
This Editorial Policy explains how Uncrowned Empire handles sourcing, accuracy, corrections, AI use, leaks and rumors, monetization, community content, editorial independence, and reader trust across our sites.
This policy applies to official editorial content published by Uncrowned Empire and its sites, including:
Any other editorial site, publication, or community operated by Uncrowned Empire, LLC
Each Uncrowned Empire site may have its own subject focus. For example, one site may focus on gaming, another may focus on technology or digital rights, and another may focus on military history, defense technology, preparedness, or home security. However, our editorial standards are meant to stay consistent across the network.
Our goal is simple:
Inform readers clearly, source information responsibly, correct mistakes openly, and keep editorial control separate from advertising, affiliate links, AI tools, sponsors, and outside influence.
Our Editorial Mission
Uncrowned Empire aims to inform readers, not tell them what to think.
Our official editorial coverage is intended to be straightforward, factual, and as unbiased as possible. We want readers to understand what happened, why it matters, where the information came from, and what is still unknown.
Our writers and editors are encouraged to be real people with real interests, backgrounds, and expertise. However, personal opinions should not drive straight news coverage.
When staff want to share opinions, reactions, reviews, personal commentary, or informal analysis, those are better suited for clearly labeled opinion content, community blogs, comments, or forum discussions rather than straight news articles.
Site Focus and Coverage Scope
Uncrowned Empire is not trying to cover every topic, every trend, every controversy, or every breaking story on the internet.
Each site has its own purpose and coverage focus.
Uncrowned Gaming focuses on games where players lead, manage, command, or travel with meaningful parties, squads, armies, companions, creatures, or communities. It may also cover broader gaming industry news when it affects players, platforms, ownership, access, communities, or games within its coverage focus.
Uncrowned Addiction focuses on technology, consumer tools, digital rights, software, online platforms, entertainment technology, emerging science, practical guides, and related topics that affect everyday users.
Uncrowned Armory may focus on military news, defense technology, global conflict, preparedness, home security, safety, and related educational or newsworthy topics.
Uncrowned Empire may publish company updates, policy notices, network announcements, transparency pages, and broader updates related to the Uncrowned Empire network.
Future sites may have their own focus areas, but they are expected to follow the same general editorial standards.
Types of Content We Publish or Host
Uncrowned Empire sites may publish or host several types of content. Each type is handled differently.
News Articles
News articles focus on confirmed information, major updates, announcements, policy changes, industry developments, public statements, official releases, and other stories relevant to the site’s audience.
For news coverage, we prioritize official sources, verified statements, public records, press releases, direct announcements, and reputable reporting from established publications.
When possible, we link directly to the original source so readers can review the information themselves.
Our goal is not to rewrite another outlet’s work. When a story begins with another publication, we credit the source and try to add useful context, background, explanation, or additional information.
Updates and Announcements
Update coverage may include software updates, game updates, platform changes, policy changes, event updates, roadmap changes, product changes, patch notes, public statements, organizational announcements, or other meaningful developments.
Whenever possible, we use official sources such as company posts, developer posts, publisher announcements, changelogs, patch notes, platform listings, public documents, press releases, or verified social media accounts.
Some organizations publish important updates primarily through social media. Official social media posts may be used when a better source is not available, but we still try to find a more complete or permanent source when possible.
Guides, Resources, and Explainers
Guides are created to help readers understand games, tools, systems, technology, events, policies, safety practices, mechanics, historical topics, or common problems.
Guides may be based on official information, hands-on experience, public documentation, product documentation, in-game details, public records, reputable sources, or verified community knowledge.
Because games, tools, platforms, laws, prices, software, services, and public information can change over time, older guides may become outdated. When possible, we update guides or make changes clear when major information has changed.
Guides may use AI assistance for drafting, formatting, structure, summaries, or editing, but all official guide content must be provided by and reviewed by a human editor before publication.
Reviews, Opinions, and Commentary
Official straight news coverage is intended to stay neutral, factual, and informative.
Opinion content, reviews, personal commentary, reactions, written impressions, and analysis should be clearly labeled or placed in areas where readers understand the content is opinion-driven.
Community blogs and forums may contain reviews, opinions, recommendations, reactions, personal projects, or staff-created non-news content. These are treated differently from straight news coverage.
If an Uncrowned Empire site publishes opinion-style content in an official capacity, it should be clearly labeled as opinion, editorial, review, analysis, commentary, or another appropriate format.
Leaks, Rumors, and Unconfirmed Claims
Leaks, rumors, and unconfirmed claims are handled separately from confirmed news.
When an Uncrowned Empire site covers a leak, rumor, or unconfirmed claim, it should be clearly labeled as such. We do not present rumors as confirmed facts.
We try to explain where the claim came from, how reliable the source appears to be, whether the information has been supported by other sources, and what remains unverified.
A known insider, established reporter, public document, official filing, or credible technical finding may be treated differently from a random Reddit post, Discord message, forum claim, anonymous submission, or social media post with no clear history of accuracy.
There is no perfect system for judging leaks or unconfirmed claims. Our goal is to be transparent with readers about what is known, what is claimed, and how much confidence they should place in it.
If a source is especially questionable, the topic may be handled as a forum discussion instead of an official article.
What We Avoid in Leak Coverage
Uncrowned Empire does not publish stolen private information, private user data, doxxing material, hacked private data, or material that violates privacy.
This applies to both official site content and community spaces.
We also avoid publishing harmful leaked material, private documents that are not clearly newsworthy, story or campaign spoilers from entertainment leaks, or technical/security information that could directly enable abuse.
We may cover that a leak happened without repeating the most harmful or invasive parts of the leaked material.
If a linked source contains spoilers, private information, graphic material, or potentially harmful details, we try to label that clearly so readers can make their own choice.
If a rumor is later confirmed, debunked, corrected, or proven inaccurate, we will try to update the article when the change is brought to our attention or discovered by our team.
Deals, Promotions, and Free Offers
Deal posts, free game posts, tech discounts, product offers, bundles, giveaways, or similar promotional findings are generally handled through forums, blogs, deal areas, or clearly appropriate editorial formats.
Because prices, availability, stock, promotions, terms, and eligibility can change quickly, readers should always check the linked store, platform, retailer, developer, publisher, or service before making a decision.
Official articles should not be created solely to drive affiliate links, product links, or sales.
Community Posts, Forums, and Blogs
Uncrowned Empire is also a community network. Forum posts, comments, blogs, user discussions, and community-created content are separate from official editorial content.
Community discussions can sometimes lead to article ideas, but user-submitted claims must be verified before being treated as news.
If a community claim cannot be verified, it may remain a discussion topic rather than become an official article.
Comments, forum activity, blogs, profiles, private messages, and other community areas are moderated under our Community Guidelines.
Sourcing Standards
Uncrowned Empire uses a source-first approach.
Our preferred sourcing order is:
Official sources, such as company posts, public records, developer posts, publisher announcements, patch notes, platform pages, regulatory filings, press releases, official documentation, official statements, or verified social media accounts.
Reputable major news publications or established subject-specific outlets.
Multiple independent reports from credible sources.
Public documents, research papers, technical documentation, legal filings, government records, archived materials, or primary materials where relevant.
Community posts, social media claims, Reddit posts, Discord posts, forum claims, anonymous submissions, or informal sources only with clear context and caution.
When an official source is not available, we try to ensure that a topic is supported by reputable reporting, multiple credible sources, public documentation, or other reliable evidence before treating it as confirmed.
We also try to trace information back to the original report, statement, document, filing, press release, public record, research paper, changelog, or source whenever possible.
We do our best to link to sources inside articles. Exclusive reports are credited back to the outlet that published them. Studies, public documents, original materials, and official statements should be linked when used.
We do not want Uncrowned Empire sites to be the end of the source line. Readers should be able to follow information back to where it came from whenever possible.
Anonymous Sources and Submitted Tips
Readers may submit news tips, leads, corrections, documents, story ideas, or other information.
At this time, submissions should include an email address when possible so we can follow up if needed. We do not necessarily verify every submitted email, and we do not publish user information if someone asks to remain anonymous.
However, Uncrowned Empire does not publish news based only on anonymous sources.
Anonymous or private submissions may be used as a starting point for research, but we require additional verification, official information, public records, reputable reporting, documentation, or other support before publishing a claim as news.
If a submitted item is unverified but still relevant for discussion, it may be better suited for the forums.
AI Use in Editorial Work
Uncrowned Empire allows the responsible use of AI tools in the editorial process, but AI does not replace human editorial responsibility.
Editors may use AI to assist with:
Drafting
Outlining
Formatting
Cleanup
Summaries
Tags
Meta descriptions
Article structure
Audio generation
Social media drafts
Research organization
Internal workflows
However, AI may not be used as the sole source for factual information. AI can be used as a starting point for research organization or drafting, but factual claims must be checked against real sources before publication.
Our basic standard is:
A human gathers or provides the information.
AI may assist with preparing, organizing, drafting, or improving the content.
A human reviews, edits, and approves the final result before publication.
AI is not allowed to publish official editorial content directly to the site in a way that readers can see without human review.
Uncrowned Empire may use visible AI notices on official articles, guides, audio, video, or other content where appropriate. These notices are designed to tell readers how the content was prepared.
Example article notice:
Article AI Use Notice: A human gathered the research, but AI wrote the first draft. A human then edited and approved it.
Example audio notice:
Audio AI Use Notice: AI-Generated Audio, Human-Reviewed
More details are available in our AI Use Policy.
Corrections and Updates
Accuracy matters to Uncrowned Empire. When we find an error, we try to correct it clearly and responsibly.
Readers can report corrections through article comments, private messages to editors or staff, our contact form, social media messaging, or any email address an editor chooses to list publicly.
Minor typos, formatting issues, or small grammar fixes may be corrected without a formal correction note.
Editors are encouraged to use site edit timestamps when appropriate, but small typo fixes do not always require a public callout.
Factual corrections, major clarifications, incorrect prices, incorrect dates, wrong names, debunked rumors, outdated guidance, broken factual claims, or meaningful updates should be labeled more clearly.
When a major correction or update is needed, we generally place a notice near the top of the article or in another visible location so readers can see what changed.
We prefer correcting and updating articles over removing them. If an article is wrong, outdated, or incomplete, our goal is usually to make that clear and preserve the record rather than erase it.
More details are available in our Corrections Policy.
Content Removal
Uncrowned Empire does not remove official articles or editorial content lightly.
We generally prefer edits, corrections, clarifications, update notes, labeling, or partial removals where appropriate.
However, content may be removed or partially removed if it is legally problematic, privacy-invasive, harmful, based on stolen private data, unsafe, deceptive, infringing, or otherwise requires removal.
Removal decisions are handled case by case. If information is removed from an article for a significant reason, we try to label the change when appropriate.
Early Access, Review Copies, Free Products, and Pre-Release Information
Uncrowned Empire sites may cover information from pre-release materials, early access versions, beta tests, demos, review copies, review codes, free products, press access, briefings, public previews, or limited-access materials when relevant.
If information comes from a pre-release version, preview build, beta, demo, review copy, early-access version, or other non-final material, we try to make that clear when it matters.
Pre-release information can change, and readers should understand that features, stats, pricing, terms, availability, product details, mechanics, software behavior, event details, or other information may not be final.
Publishers, developers, companies, sponsors, vendors, PR representatives, or outside organizations are not allowed to review or approve official articles before publication.
They may provide information, answer questions, offer statements, or request corrections after publication, but editorial control remains with Uncrowned Empire.
Affiliate Links, Ads, and Monetization
Uncrowned Empire uses monetization to help support its sites, but monetization does not determine editorial coverage.
Guests and unregistered visitors may see display ads, such as Google AdSense, and product or retail links may be automatically converted into affiliate links through services such as Sovrn Commerce. Guests may also see community sponsor banners or other monetized placements.
Registered users may receive a cleaner experience where configured, including reduced or removed standard display ads, affiliate conversion, or analytics placements. Registered users may still see community sponsor banners, embedded third-party content, user-posted affiliate links, legacy affiliate links, or other site features depending on configuration.
Editors and users may use their own affiliate links where allowed, but official articles should not be created for the purpose of driving affiliate revenue.
Official editorial content should not be written as affiliate articles, sales funnels, undisclosed sponsored posts, or product promotions disguised as news.
If sponsored official editorial content were ever allowed in the future, it would be clearly labeled.
Advertisers, sponsors, affiliate programs, commerce partners, and monetization programs do not control our editorial coverage.
More details are available in our Affiliate Disclosure and Monetization Policy.
Editorial Independence
Uncrowned Empire’s editorial decisions are made by our team, not advertisers, affiliate partners, sponsors, companies, political groups, vendors, manufacturers, developers, publishers, PR representatives, or outside organizations.
Affiliate links do not determine whether we cover a topic, product, update, game, service, company, tool, event, policy, or story.
Display ads do not affect article conclusions.
Sponsors do not receive control over official coverage, reviews, recommendations, corrections, moderation decisions, or community enforcement.
Editors are not allowed to create official articles simply to drive links, products, affiliate revenue, sponsor traffic, or sales.
Bylines, Staff Accounts, and Accountability
Articles are published through staff accounts or author accounts.
Editors and writers are encouraged to provide names, usernames, bios, or author information where appropriate, but real names are not required. Usernames and staff identities may be used as bylines.
Uncrowned Empire sites may use author bios where available, and staff members are encouraged to be transparent about who they are. However, we also allow staff to use their site identity when appropriate.
Publication dates are listed on official articles where supported by the platform. Editors are encouraged to use edit timestamps when making changes, and major updates should include a visible date.
Final editorial responsibility belongs to the relevant Uncrowned Empire site and Uncrowned Empire, LLC.
Reader Feedback and Contact
Readers are encouraged to contact us with corrections, concerns, news tips, source issues, outdated information, broken links, or feedback.
You can reach us through article comments, private messages, our contact form, social media messaging, or publicly listed editor contact information when available.
We welcome good-faith corrections and source material. Our goal is to improve the accuracy and usefulness of our coverage, not to pretend mistakes never happen.
Our Commitment
Uncrowned Empire is built around transparency, accuracy, usefulness, and community trust.
We aim to publish content in a way that is clear, sourced, human-reviewed, and honest about uncertainty.
We may not always be the first to report a story, but we want readers to understand what is known, where it came from, and how much confidence they should place in it.
Our promise is simple:
We will do our best to inform readers clearly, correct mistakes responsibly, label uncertainty honestly, and keep editorial control separate from advertising, affiliate links, AI tools, sponsors, and outside influence.
