Springfield Adds Three SG-100 Model 2020 Waypoint Rifles at $1,995

  • TL;DR: Springfield Armory added three Model 2020 Waypoint bolt-action rifles in .308 Win., 7mm PRC and .300 Win. Mag., each featuring a non-slip SG-100-coated carbon-fiber stock, black Cerakote stainless-steel components, threaded fluted barrels and a .75-MOA accuracy guarantee. Each model has an MSRP of $1,995.

Three SG-100 Waypoint Rifles Added

Springfield Armory has added three Model 2020 Waypoint bolt-action rifles featuring a Super Grip SG-100 Cerakote treatment. The new variants are chambered in .308 Win., 7mm PRC, and .300 Win. Mag., covering both short- and long-action configurations.

Each rifle carries an MSRP of $1,995. The additions combine a textured carbon-fiber stock with black-finished stainless-steel components while retaining the Model 2020 line’s stated accuracy guarantee.

Stock and Finish

The rifles use bead-blasted carbon-fiber stocks sourced from AG Composites. Springfield applies SG-100 Cerakote, a non-slip ceramic finish with a rubberized texture intended to improve handling in field conditions.

The fluted barrel and stainless-steel action receive a subdued black H-164 Cerakote finish. This gives all three chamberings the same general exterior treatment, pairing the textured stock with black metalwork.

“The Model 2020’s combination of custom-grade features at production rifle pricing has established it as a premier bolt-action hunting rifle,” said Steve Kramer, Springfield Armory’s vice president of marketing. “Building on this tradition are these newest variants, featuring a subdued black finish on the metal paired with the enhanced grip of the SG-100 coating on the stock.”

Chamberings and Barrels

The .308 Win. model has a 20-inch barrel. The 7mm PRC and .300 Win. Mag. rifles use 24-inch barrels.

All three are equipped with fluted barrels made from 416 stainless steel. The muzzles are threaded and fitted with Springfield’s SA Radial Brake. Aside from their chamberings, action lengths, and barrel lengths, the rifles share the same listed barrel construction, muzzle equipment, and finish.

Action and Bolt Design

The Model 2020 Waypoint action is machined from pre-hardened stainless steel. It incorporates an integral recoil lug and electrical discharge machined, or EDM-cut, raceways.

A fluted bolt uses dual cocking cams and supports tool-free disassembly. The design allows the bolt to be taken apart for maintenance without requiring a workbench or separate tools.

Springfield backs the SG-100 models with a .75-MOA accuracy guarantee for three-shot groups. The guarantee applies when match-grade ammunition is used by a skilled shooter.

Key specifications include:
